Cakes for all ages!

This week we have made birthday cakes for a 7th birthday party and a 50th birthday party. Both equally fun to make.

Our Teenage mutant ninja turtle cake is orange choc chip and was deliciously moist. The turtle heads were made from rice krispies treats.

Our pint of Heineken cake is lemon madeira and is all cake! No problem eating and driving after this one!

Custom made designs.

We have had some really fun designs come our way recently. All our cakes are tailor made for the customer, and although we have a large selection of cakes to choose from, it is great to do something new and different each time.
Our last few cakes are a great example of this.
Little Matthew was 1 a couple of weeks ago, and his cake featured a model of his favourite stuffed monkey. His Mom told us that he had a big smile on his face when he saw his best pal on his cake.

Another birthday boy (a few years older though) chose to have his truck on the top of his cake. Lucky it was a whopping 8kg of chocolate biscuit cake to house the relief model of the front of his truck on top. Was a truckload of cake alright!

This weekend we had a request for a chocolate cake for a 40th birthday. The birthday girl is a fan of Christian Le Bouton red-soled shoes and she wanted only the shoes as decoration. It is an elegant and simple cake, and the shoe miniatures were all the cake needed by way of decoration.

Lavender wedding cake

 Today we delivered a tower of cupcakes to a wedding venue, and it even looked like there was to be a little bit of sun!! Imagine, sunshine. The smell of fresh lavender from the cupcakes was just gorgeous. The cupcakes were however all lemon meringue pie flavour. The lavender is just a ruse. All wholesome to look at but calorifically delicious all the same.
The bride's colour scheme was lavender, but she chose a hydrangea cake topper to tie in a few shades of blue and purple. it added a lovely texture to the cake and topped it off beautifully.

 The top tier is chocolate biscuit cake. An old family recipe that has stood the test of time and many a chocoholic. As innocent as that white baby looks, it packs a good chocolate kick, I promise you!

Summer time!

It really has not been the best of summers for gardening, but that doesnt' stop us from making it in cake!

Pirate's treasure map cake

This weekend we made a Pirate map cake for a very special 6 year old.

The cake is chocolate with chocolate buttercream and is worthy of any treasure chest!
